Grade 2 – Purse $855,500 – 1 mile – Turf – 3-Year-Olds and Up

Namur was sent off the chalk here and the daughter of Harbinger did not disappoint her followers.

She had hit the board in two top table events, including when third in the 2022 Grade 1 Yushun Himba Stakes (Japanese Oaks) before another strong effort to run second in the 2022 Grade 1 Shuka Sho Stakes.

This was a cutback in distance and a different set of tactics, and the mile distance certainly paid to he strengths as she was held off the strong speed set by Stella Veloce.

Namur is still very lightly raced and this was her fourth win from twelve starts and she has now collected nearly $1.8 million in purse money.

The race itself went smoothly and she made a move at the top of the stretch coming wide in the four lane.

As soon as Joao Moreira urged his filly, she quickened to lead at the furlong marker and held the late rally of Red Mon Reve (gave the filly 7lbs) with So Valiant closing late to take the third spot at the wire with Elusive Panther in the fourth spot.
