2023 UAE Oaks Odds, Field & Preview

A small field and just seven runners going to post for the 2023 UAE Oaks which is a trial for one of the big fillies races on Dubai World Cup night next month here at Meydan.

Mimi Kakushi goes for the hat trick and aims to follow up her easy win in the UAE 1000 Guineas and complete the fillies’ classic double.

2023 UAE Oaks Preview

Ami Please from the Doug O’Neil barn has been running consistently stateside and comes here off the back of a solid show placing in the Blue Norther Stakes back in December as a two-year-old. This is her first start as a three-year-old and she has had a nice six-week layoff to prepare for this.

This stretch-out in distance looks a plus and she holds a solid chance of hitting the board.

Asawer is still a maiden after three starts at Meydan and will need to take a step forward to get involved today. The best of her three runs came on the second start when she was second behind another of today’s foes, Mimi Kakushi in the UAE 1000 Guineas trial. But she was once again beaten by that rival easily in the real thing when being beaten more than 10 lengths by that rival in the UAE 1000 Guineas.

Mimi Kakushi looks the real deal here and after a couple of shots off the board in her first two runs at shorter distances, she certainly enjoyed the stretch-out to a mile last time, winning the 1000 Guineas by four and a half lengths, and she’ll be the chalk here.

Awasef who finished second in that race went to the lead early and held well for the second spot, but there seems no way for her to turn around that form and the best she can hope for is a slice underneath.

One of the interesting runners here is Habooba, who had finished just three-quarters of a length behind the favorite when they contested a minor stakes race back in early December and this extra distance looks to give plenty of upside for Habooba.

Priyanka and Solaire are both imports from France, but their form there does not look good enough to trouble the main contenders here and a slice underneath is the best they can hope for.

2023 UAE Oaks Odds & Prediction

Not really a tough race to call with MIMI KAKUSHI a clear form pick having won the UAE 1000 Guineas Trial and then backing that up with a win in the 1000 Guineas itself. The last win was the best yet and she’ll have no problem with the extra furlong.

US raider Ami Please has solid form stateside, and she could be a pace angle here, so should have a clear passage to try and get the chalk out of her comfort zone. She looks sure to hit the board.

There is no doubt the best is yet to come from Habooba and the stretch-out in distance makes her a very interesting rival, and it would not be the biggest shock if she were to hit the board.
