Can Stromberg stake a claim for Triple Crown glory in 2024? Well check out the Beresford Stakes Betting Preview and let’s find out!

Beresford Stakes
Grade 2 – Purse $128,000 – 1 mile – Turf – 2-Year-Olds
Stromberg kicked off his campaign with a fine second of eighteen in a maiden at Leopardstown back in July, and that patience has been rewarded with the horse breaking the maiden tag next time when winning what looked an ordinary race.
However, it was not the win itself but the manner of the win, as he came there at the furlong pole and widened to win by ten lengths at the wire putting up a very good speed figure.
That maiden win got people talking but his next run when stepping up the class ladder in a series stakes race saw him again run over seven furlongs and once again come home strongly in the final furlong to win by seven lengths.
There has to be some caution as he tackles graded stakes foes for the first time but he looks something special and the extra furlong gives plenty of upside.
His main rival will surely be Chief Little Rock who himself was second on debut before breaking the maiden tag the second time around. That run came over a mile and he was brave in the finish but the overall form is nothing to get too excited about, and it may be his barn buddy Navy Seal who could give Stromberg plenty to think about.
The son of Dubawi was unfancied on debut and that proved right as he ran a nice race for a beginner when finishing fifth of thirteen foes.
However, he was a different proposition next time against five foes at Galway when running out a comfortable winner by nearly three lengths. That run did come on heavy turf so he still has to prove he can handle a faster surface on Saturday but Frankie Dettori has been booked for the ride and he is riding like the devil at the moment.
Outside the top three on the boards, we have one foe with some solid stakes form, with Deepone having finished second in the 2023 Listed Churchill Stakes back in August before stepping into graded stakes company when fourth of seven in the 2023 Grade 2 Champions Juvenile Stakes at Leopardstown.
A mention should go to the maiden winner Grosvenor Square who is still in the “could be anything category” and was an easy winner on debut.
2023 Beresford Stakes Odds & Betting Predictions
Deepzone is rated 102 and that rating is somewhat below what is usually required to win this race but with plenty of experience with four runs so far, he looks a good across-the-board play.
The way that STROMBERG has won his races has been very exciting and the Curragh crowd on Saturday will be expecting more of the same, and he gets a strong vote here.
Navy Seal, Grosvenor Square, and Chief Little Rock are closely matched and should be fighting for the show spot here.
