HORSE RACING RESULTS WEEKEND

Horse Racing Results Weekend – Graded Stakes Races, Week Ending Jan. 10, 2021

Horse Racing Results: There were no races Graded on the Road to the Kentucky Derby this past weekend; but there were still a handful of big horse racing results to pay attention to. All told we had four graded stakes races over the weekend, including a rather lucrative race in Japan. We hope you got your wagers in and cashed some winning tickets; but for those of you who may have missed it; here are the weekend graded stakes horse racing results.

Saturday

Gulfstream Park Race 10 – Tropical Turf Stakes (G3) 1 Mile Turf – $100,000

There was a lot of chalk on display in the Tropical Turf Stakes, with the top 3 favorites all getting in the money. It was a fabulous finish; as Ride a Comet and Casa Creed battled it out coming home; but it was Ride a Comet who prevailed, winning by half a length. Ride a Comet paid $6.20 for the win.

Santa Anita Race 8 – La Canada Stakes (G3) 1 1/16 Mile Dirt – $200,000

We did get a surprise result in this race; with longshot Sanenus driving home for a dominating 6-length win, paying $17 for a $2 bet. We had 14/1 shot Miss Stormy D coming in second and triggering a very nice $1 exacta that paid $94.80. Odds on favorite Fighting Mad finished well off the pace down in 5th.

Santa Anita Race 9 – Las Cienegas Stakes (G3) 6F Turf – $100,000

It was certainly a day of surprises at Santa Anita; as we saw another heavy favorite fail to win in this race. Jolie Olimpica started as an even money favorite; but he failed to get up in time, falling 2 ½ length short of the winner; Charmaine’s Mia, who paid $35.40 for the win, setting off a $58.00 exacta ($1).

Sunday

Chukyo, Japan Race 11 – Shinzan Kinen (G3) 1 Mile Turf – $780,000

The them of surprise horse racing results continued in the early hours of Sunday morning; with Pixie Knight winning the Shinzan Kinen at odds of 12/1. Kukuna started the race as a 7/5 favorite; but he could only manage a 4th place finish in what is sure to be a disappointment for the owner and trainer.
