Also, we are going to take a look at the Kentucky Derby Future Book.

Fountain of Youth

Simplification soundly defeated a very strong field of Derby hopefuls in the Fountain of Youth a race that was held at the Gulfstream Park in South Florida.

During the race, High Oak clipped heels with Emmanuel and fell with Galt then tumbling over the fallen horse.

Both horses were OK and jockey Joel Rosario seemed fine. However, Junior Alvarado suffered a sprained injury and will miss about a week.

Gotham Stakes

By his end, Morello won with ease at the Gotham Stakes. By winning the Gotham, Morello got 50 qualifying points and assure him a spot in the Kentucky Derby

San Felipe Stakes

Forbidden Kingdom put together a ferocious sprint in the San Felipe Stakes (G2, $400,000) and got his second straight G2 win. The horse rode by Juan Hernandez went wire to wire to easily defeat a weak field by almost 6 lengths.

What’s next on the stakes calendar?

This week will be the Tampa Bay Derby where we will get to see a highly regarded Major General who has not been seen since September.

Another to be considered is Classic Causeway, whose victory in the Sam Davis at Tampa Bay moved him to 10/1 in the Derby future odds.
