HRT HIGHLIGHTS #18: Kentucky Derby News and Odds

In HRT we bring the latest information about horse racing. Here is a video that summarizes the most important events that happened during the weekend. The 2022 Kentucky Derby is finally this weekend and in this HRT Highlights #18, we will give the best tips to bet this Saturday on the Run for the Roses.

2022 Kentucky Derby

We are in the last week before the Derby takes place on May 7th and we had two horses drop which allowed two others to get into the field.

Early Voting will focus on the Preakness and Un Ojo suffered a foot injury and will cause the one-eyed grey colt to miss the race. This will allow Pioneer of Medina and Ethereal Road into the field for the Run for the Roses

Let’s take a look at the odds and we see Epicenter holding strong as the favorite at 7/2 with Zandon now at 4/1.

Tim Yakteen trains the pair of former Baffert horses Taiba and Messier who sit at 7/1.

Remember that our sponsor JazzSports offers fixed odds and matchups on the Derby as well as the Oaks.

Everyone likes to make predictions as to who will win the Derby and here are the best we will be making this Friday.

We like Kathleen O and Secret Oath in the Oaks in a Daily Double to Epicenter, Crown Pride, and Mo Donegal in the Derby.

We are betting Epicenter to win the race and then keying him in Exactas, trifectas, and superfectas with Crown Pride, Mo Donegal, Pioneer of Medina, Messier, and White Abarrio.

Taking a quick look at the Oaks we see that Nest is now the 3/1 favorite with Secret Oath and Kathleen O at 7/2.  Echo Zulu has slipped to 9/2 and Hidden Connection has fallen to 12/1.  We like Secret Oath and Kathleen O to run 1-2 with Hidden Connection closing late to fill the trifecta.
