In HRT we bring the latest information about horse racing. Here are our HRT HIGHLIGHTS #27 which summarizes the most important events that will happen during the weekend.
2022 Diana Stakes Recap
Saratoga opened last week and the first G1 of the season was the Diana Stakes which featured four horses from the barn of Chad Brown in a field of six.
Undefeated Bleecker Street went off at 4/5 but it was In Italian at odds of 8/1 that went gate to wire and set a new course record under Joel Rosario.
Technical Analysis was second and Bleecker Street finished third. Chad Brown trained horses finished 1 through four and In Italian was the 7th Brown trainee to win the Diana.
Sanford Stakes
Seven horses were entered in the Win and You’re in, G2 Steven Foster with a spot in the BC Classic at stake.
The field included 2021 Kentucky Derby winner Mandaloun but Olympiad ended up as the betting favorite at 3/2 and did not let his bettors down as he won by over two lengths under Jockey Junior Alvarado for trainer Bill Mott.
Olympiad is now 5 for 5 in 2022 including four consecutive stakes victories and sits at 17/1 in the Jazzsports BC Classic future book with Flightline the favorite at 7/2.
Breeders’ Cup Sprint future book
This week’s Breeders’ Cup update focuses on the Breeders’ Cup Sprint where Jackies Warrior is a 3/2 favorite for trainer Steve Asmussen.
Speakers Corner is the second choice in the wagering at 6/1. Flightline and Jack Christopher are the co-third choices in wagering but both may be looking at the Mile or the Classic.
Last year’s winner Aloha West currently sits at 8/1 according to our partners at JazzSports
