The win moved his record to 3 for 3 and was worth 10 Kentucky Derby qualifying points. The bettors also noticed and his Kentucky Derby future book odds fell to 25/1 according to JazzSports.
Skippylongstocking conquers the Harlan’s Holiday
Trainer Saffie Joseph sent out two horses in the G3 Harlan’s Holiday with the three-year-old winner of the West Virginia Derby Skippylongstocking and the Chilean champion O’Connor.
O’Connor who went off favored at 6/5 never really got going and finished a lackluster 4th. Skippy broke alertly and sat behind Pioneer of Medina and then took the lead and won by two lengths.
Both horses will be pointed towards the Pegasus World Cup where they figure to meet Cyberknife who will be making his final start before heading off to stud duty.
