Mishriff continued the fairytale for jockey David Egan with an easy success in the £1 million Juddmonte International 2021
The colt, victorious in the world’s richest race earlier this year, the £14 million Saudi Cup, blew away the field on the Knavesmire.
Mishriff travelled easily for Egan, also on board for his Dubai Sheema Classic triumph and he appeared to have all rivals covered.
Once asked, he stretched six lengths clear of Alenquer, with the rest of the runners finishing in close proximity to one another.
Egan said: “I’m just so privileged to be put in the position to ride for (owner) Prince Faisal and ride a horse like Mishriff for Mr Gosden. Winning the Juddmonte International, it’s stuff I’ve dreamt of my whole life. “To do what he has done is phenomenal – he’s a horse to be reckoned with now. This horse means everything to me. He’s going to make my career, hopefully.”
“The Saudi Cup and the Sheema Classic were fantastic – and to win a Group One in the UK, especially the Juddmonte International with the Saudi Arabian connection for Prince Faisal, it’s very, very special. This just proves he can do it overseas – and he can do it at home.”

About the winner
With more than £11 million in the prize-money bank, few horses have ever compiled such a lustrous global CV as Mishriff; a Classic winner in France in last year’s Prix du Jockey Club, he landed the world’s richest race on dirt at the beginning of 2021 with the $20m Saudi Cup before reverting to turf to win the $6m Dubai Sheema Classic; after a break, solid placed efforts in both the Eclipse and King George presaged this latest G1 win.
