2022 Alliance Stakes Odds & Betting Prediction

Racing fans across America have a tremendous weekend of racing to look forward to. Despite the presence of the Breeders’ Cup, there are still plenty of fantastic races happening elsewhere. One of these races is the 2022 Alliance Stakes and here we preview everything you need to know.

Aftercare Alliance Stakes

Grade 2, Dirt, 1 mile and five furlongs, open to horses aged three and over. Total prize pool $350,000

At the time of writing ten horses are set to head down to post for this year’s Alliance Stakes.

Likely to start as the favourite for the contest is the Kenny McPeek trained Rattle N Roll. A winner of his last start in the Grade 3 Oklahoma Derby, he will be hoping to land his second successive graded contest. A former Grade 1 winner last season he will rightly start the race as the horse to beat.

Bal Harbour out of the Robertino Diodoro barn and Heywoods Beach from the John Sadler yard are likely to start the race close in the betting and both have a good chance of victory.

Bal Harbour is one of the most experienced horses in the field and jockey Luis Saez will be hoping to put his experience to good use. Yet to taste success at this level, he has come close on numerous occasions and it wouldn’t be a surprise to anyone if he were to finally end his graded drought here.

Heywoods Beach has had a hugely valuable season winning two Grade 3 contests and will be hoping to land his third Grade 3 race of the year. Clearly in great form, he could be the value bet of the race.

Win the Day out of the Doug O’Neill yard has now gone several races without victory but he did run well when he finished second to Heywoods Beach in the Tokyo City Cup Stakes. He will be hoping to build on that performance here and will start as one of the premier contenders for the race.

At a bigger price one to watch out for could be Always Above who is trained by Michelle Nihei. Likely to start as a double figure price, he ran with promise in his only graded race to date when he finished fourth in the Dueling Grounds Derby. He finished seven lengths behind winner Kitodan but is one of the youngest and most unexposed competitors in this race and shouldn’t be discarded lightly.

Likely to start at a big price is the Todd Fincher trained Sheriff Brown. A reliable contender at this level, the wins have been few and far between but he often performs with credit. Having been off the track since May, he will arrive at this race fresh and connections will be hoping he can scoop the prize at a big price.

2022 Alliance Stakes Betting Prediction

In a race that has the potential to go several ways we will tentatively pick Heywoods Beach to build on his performance in the Tokyo City Cup Stakes. An effective winner that day, he arrives at this race with solid form in the book and offers some great value. Rock N Roll will rate as the main danger to our selection.
