Before another exciting weekend of racing across both the UK and Ireland, the week was headlined by the G3 2022 Desmond Stakes ran at Leopardstown, where Boundless Ocean struck gold.

Seven headed to post for this 2022 Desmond Stakes. The betting was led by the Jim Bolger trained Boundless Ocean who was looking to land his second successive Grade 3 success.
With many of his rivals having not tasted success at this level, Boundless Ocean quickly found himself in the lead when the starting stalls opened.
Dictating the early fractions, Boundless Ocean found himself out in front as he rounded the home turn and hit the two furlong marker.
Looking to put his rivals away and assert his class, jockey Kevin Manning loosened the reigns and Boundless Ocean quickly bounded clear of his rivals.
Surprised by Boundless Ocean’s change of gear, several jockeys were quick to urge their mount forward, but as hard as they tried they couldn’t reel the leader in.
Juncture, who set off as the second favourite for the race did his best, bursting clear from the pack and managing to finish within a length of the winner.
Boundless Ocean was always comfortable and his trainer now might target some bigger races before the season ends.
Jonny Murtagh who trained the winner of this race last year, saw his runner Raadoberg run a huge race to finish in a distant third.
